Following the tradition of the last year Kithara Software will be present at the leading event for Assembly and Handling Technology, and Automation in Stuttgart on tuesday the 14th of September from 9 am until 5 pm.

New version 9 of Kithara »RealTime Suite«

The new version 9 of our »RealTime Suite« is now available. The essential improvement is the support of the new Windows 7. Additionally the software contains the completely new revision 2.0 of the EtherCAT Master. Developers can now realize even complex EtherCAT applications with ease and flexibility.

The EtherCAT Master 2.0 now supports besides CoE, EoE, FoE even Distributed Clocks (DC). The software is ready for "hot-plug" and also prepared for cable redundancy to increase the system reliability.

On wednesday the 23^rd of September we will be present at the Motek 2009 in Stuttgart from 9 am until 5 pm.

CAN in real time is now a part of the Kithara »RealTime Suite« 2009. The functions give developers of industrial applications the opportunity to use real-time CAN communication to the hardware. The function library is used when a time critical handling with CAN messages will be needed, for example machine builder and computer control companies.

Kithara »RealTime Suite« under Windows 7

On October 22nd Microsoft is going to release its newest operating system called Windows 7. Until then interested parties can using the "Release Candidate" of Windows 7.

Our developers have adapted the complete Kithara »RealTime Suite« to the requirements of the new system and now you can download the beta-version of Kithara »RealTime Suite« version 9

The trial version contains over 20 different modules with high-precision real-time, Ethernet, the new revised EtherCAT Master Version 1.5, realtime CAN and all functions for hardware dependent programming.

The new real-time CAN module by Kithara completes the Windows extensions and realizes a lot of automation solutions which require real-time compliant CAN connection. The function library is used by developers who require a time critical handling with CAN messages for example machine builder and computer control companies. At present boards with 1, 2 and 4 port/channels from EMS Dr. Wünsche, IXXAT and PEAK System are supported. The CAN module is part of our Kithara »RealTime Suite« 2009.

Best Product Award 2008 goes to Kithara

The readers of the professional journal E&E have decided: Winner of the Best Product Award 2008 under the heading "design tools & software" is the »RealTime Suite« of Kithara Software.

It contains new features like preemptive multitasking, real-time Ethernet with TCP/UDP, automation protocol EtherCAT and many other new functions.

As our customers admire our innovative products and improvements the Kithara »RealTime Suite« has been medalled with the title Best Product Award 2008.

The company Kithara Software GmbH located in Berlin was founded in 1996 and has become a specialist for hardware dependent programming, real-time, multi-tasking and communication solutions for the Windows operating systems.

Simply applicable tools allow programmers to realize PCI and USB hardware access as well as the development of real-time solutions using Ethernet and automation with EtherCAT. Basic principle of the product range is moving the usual program code to the kernel-level, where it is executed in real-time. The programmer stays in his usual development environment, like C/C++ or Delphi. Instead of working with a Black Box the user implements the required code from functional libraries into his application. At any time he is in control of the process.

Kithara enhanced real-time capabilities with highly precise timers with a jitter in a range of only a few microseconds, preemptive multitasking with up to 255 priorities, UDP and TCP communication in realtime supplements the well-known functions for hardware-dependent programming with support of user and kernel level for I/O ports and physical memory, interrupts, serial interfaces and USB devices.

The EtherCAT Master has been enhanced by the new Master Monitor.This software program serves as a visualization tool for the connected EtherCAT topologies and simplifies and catalyzes their management. This is an important requirement, because using the functional enhancements, like process and service data communication (PDO/SDO), CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE), Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE), File over EtherCAT (FoE) and Distributed Clock (DC) the software is used in more complex solutions and drives automation processes in the industry.

EtherCAT topology-management with Master Monitor

This graphic Windows application enables the visualization and management of EtherCAT topologies. The Master Monitor is an intuitive, interactive tool and already integrated into the Kithara EtherCAT Master. Extensive real-time automation applications can now be easily and clearly arranged and achieve serial production still faster.
